 St.Malo, we made it!

 Beautiful rolling gravel roads leading into Lahon on the outskirts of Dinan. 

First sign for St Malo, maybe 40 miles, we’ll head for Dinan tonight. 

 Bit earlier in the day, loading up on a scrumptious couscous lunch.

 Amazing ride along the canal to Redon.

 Crossing the L’Erdre on a hydrogen powered boat. 

Wonderful wooden cycle route along the L’Erdre just north of Nantes. 

 The curiosity of cows. 

 Out of sequence, this family was camping with us last night on Isle de Re. Their wonderful Citroen DS (the ‘Godess’) has been part of their family for ages and he very proudly gave  me a tour. Things like this make me happy.

Velo Dessey follows the coast from Spain northwards to Roscoff… today’s route though pine forests along the sand dune coast up to the winelands of the Gironde valley.

 Lakeside stop for cafe au lait and watching the last 10km of the Tour… sprint finish (them, not me!), go Cav!

 Sunday morning, still at sea, first light, waiting to see the Spanish coast on the horizon. Excited and can’t wait to get on my bike. Plan to head east and try to make San Sebastián for the end of the second stage of the Tour…
